Fullstack Engineer - Frontend focused

Our client is a not-for-profit organisation delivering cutting-edge research, policy development, innovative clinical services, and evidence-based training and education for the mental health workforce to ensure that there is
continuous improvement in the treatments and care provided to young people experiencing mental ill-health.

The organisation is looking for a Fullstack Frontend Engineer to play a key role in the continued development and evolution of their digital platform. You will join a broad team of software engineers, designers, researches and the wider team of frontline mental health professionals working together to reduce the impact of mental-health on young people, their families and society. 

Key responsibilities and outcomes

• Identify, optimise, build processes and solve issues with the Frontend
• Implement and test web application features
• Identify and solve user experience issues
• Assist in the development of new features, components and architecture
• Development towards multi-platform devices, desktop through to mobile device
• Collaboration with design and product members
• Participation in regular sprint planning and review sessions
• Participate in other development activities and responsibilities as directed by the Head of
Engineering and other senior managers within the Digital team
• Comply with and support others and promote a workplace culture that is safe, diverse and inclusive

Essential

• Commercial development experience
• Proficient in JavaScript
• Working with designers and product leads to bring UX prototypes to life
• Working with backend engineers to integrate frontend API requirements
• Expertise progressive web application technologies
• Excellent computer skills with the ability to explain technical information in simple language
• Ability to problem solve
• Development experience with containers - Docker
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Motivation and passion for continuous improvement and growing as a team

Desirable

• Understanding of web browser and device / platform capabilities and inconsistencies
• Hands-on experience with VueJS
• Hands-on experience with mobile application development

• Unrestricted right to live and work in Australia
• A current National Police Check will be required

• You may be required to work across more than one of the organization's sites, which are currently
located within the north and west of Melbourne
